Welcome

Theta Tau is a co-ed professional engineering fraternity. The purpose of Theta Tau is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship.

The engineering students that join Theta Tau develop an extraordinary potential for success in numerous areas of their lives because they are constantly faced with challenges that are typically unavailable in the classroom, such as assuming leadership roles, organizing professional and social events, and reaching out to the community. Not only does our fraternity have much more to offer than any other engineering club or organization on campus, but we are constantly expanding our brotherhood and lifelong friends!

We are always looking for motivated, ambitious, and energetic engineering students at UC Davis that are interested in building friendships, improving their professional lives, and becoming the strong foundation upon which the fraternity is built.

Interested in joining? Please visit our rush page or send an email to info@davisthetatau.org to find out more!

Brother Spotlight

May 2nd

After being initiated as our chapter's second first-quarter freshman, Megan has demonstrated initiative and passion beyond her time with us. Besides her duties as an active Brother, Megan finds time to assist other Brothers with their work while striving to do the best job with her two positions as Public Relations Chair and Webmaster, helping advertise the fraternity through her work with our website, as well as throughout the UC Davis campus with the many events that we hold. We, as a chapter, are extremely proud to call her a Brother.

As students of the engineering community know, the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is a daunting 8 hour test to be a licensed Professional Engineer. Brothers Ranelle Reyes and Jamie Tipton spearheaded the FE Review Sessions this Spring Quarter that helped 60 students of all engineering majors prepare for the FE Exam. Even with the short period of time to schedule review sessions (since the exam was the 2nd weekend of Spring Quarter), Ranelle and Jamie were able to organize and host 10 sessions.

Recently, Theta Tau participated in Relay for Life. Our team was organized by Brothers Ashley Martin and Amy Cunningham and they created a Henna Tattoo booth at Relay for Life that helped raise $235! Also, Ashley and Amy have been working hard on our philanthropy event. They are currently organizing the Philanthropy Committee and planning Pie Your Professor. Pie Your Professor was originally initiated by Ashley and she is dedicated to this cause that will help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area. Buy a ticket to pie your professor from a brother or stop by the West Quad on May 22nd from 12:00-2:00pm!

The dedication of Brothers Stefan Empleo and Yasmin Amin has lead to a successful week of Rush! They encouraged brothers to advertise through tabling and classroom visits. Giving brothers support during tabling, Brother Stefan Empleo even committed to stay the whole day, every day during Advertisement week. Through their events, they were able to motivate Rush guests to sign up for an interview to pledge for Theta Tau. Their hard work and enthusiasm towards Rush helped us find amazing candidates for the next pledge class!

Our current Rube Goldberg Chairs, Brothers Federico Padron Nunez and Donald Wang, have raised the bar for their position. Our annual Rube Goldberg Machine Competition on Picnic Day will feature teams from local high school and colleges in and around the Davis area. Their outstanding dedication secured outside funding from Chevron, Intel, and other local companies that will go towards providing customized t-shirts for teams that participate. This is just one part of their overall plan for the Picnic Day competition. Their accomplishments in advertisement and fundraising are sure to make this year's Rube Goldberg Machine Competition the best yet!
